CRPF: Central Reserve Police Force

CRPF stands for Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF). The paramilitary force that is the biggest Central Armed Police Force in India. CRPF is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Governmentof India. Its primary mission is to support the states and the union territorial governmentsin maintaining the law and order within their respective regions. Its headquarters are in New Delhi, India. India's government India has established the CRPR academy to provide training to students who want be part of the CRPF. As of July 2017, Sh Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar is the Director General of CRPF.

The name CRPF originates of"the" Crown Representative's Police (CRP) which was created on July 27, 1939 in order to protect British residents in states sensitive to India.
In 1949, under the CRPF Act in 1949, CRP was changed to CRPF.
